Germany Approves New Policy to Support Solar Energy

The German Parliament has approved Solarpaket 1 to bolster the PV industry. The policy includes significant enhancements for commercial  solar rooftop systems. These businesses will now receive a feed-in tariff of €0.015 ($0.016) per kWh above current tariff levels. Additionally, to facilitate the operation of PV balcony systems and establish shared building power supply systems, the law increases the tender quota for PV projects from 20 megawatts to 50 megawatts for open-space systems.
