A Chinese research team has unveiled a groundbreaking advancement in solar energy technology. They have successfully developed an efficient carbon-based CsPbI2Br perovskite solar cell without the need for a costly hole transport layer (HTL). This innovation leverages a novel low-dimensional/three-dimensional heterostructure design, achieving a photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 14.15% and enhancing the stability of the solar cell.
By employing BzChX for surface modification of the perovskite film, the researchers have effectively minimized non-radiative recombination and optimized the alignment of energy levels, which in turn has improved the performance of the solar cell. This approach not only boosts efficiency but also reduces manufacturing costs by dispensing with the expensive HTL, thereby paving new avenues for the commercialization and widespread adoption of solar cells.
