Solar Power Optimization Through TEG
2024-05-29 15:10Solar Power Optimization Through TEG
A Chinese research team has developed a cutting-edge PV system that integrates PV panels, phase change materials (PCM), thermoelectric (TEG) materials, and cooling water. This innovative setup not only efficiently manages PV cell temperatures but also boosts power generation efficiency. Under 800 W/m² solar irradiation, the system has been shown to enhance output power and efficiency by 10.4% and 1.9%, respectively.
By analyzing temperature data from the PV panel backsheet, PCM core, TEG junctions, and cooling water inlets/outlets, the team has confirmed the system's superior temperature regulation and power generation capabilities.
Utilizing PCM for thermal control, TEG for converting temperature differences into electricity, and cooling water for heat recovery, the system optimizes solar energy utilization. With ongoing technological refinements, this new PV-TEG system is poised to make significant contributions to the clean energy sector.
